Accessibility and using the guide

Keyboard navigation, readable layouts, local topic search and printable notes in Menopause Care Guide.

The design aims to make information readable and usable without an account, diagnostic questionnaire or essential animation. It adapts to different screen widths and supports browser text enlargement.

Use the skip link to move to the main content. Links, buttons and fields have visible keyboard focus. A labelled button opens the mobile menu. Article contents links move to the corresponding section. Browser search can also locate words within an article.

Search and practical tools

The topic search uses a labelled dialog with a close button. Press Escape to close it and return to your previous control. The complete topic library remains available without using search.

Tool fields have visible labels and instructions. Results do not depend on colour alone or assign a clinical score. JavaScript is required for the interactive tools; fields remain disabled until their local handlers are ready. The same questions can be copied onto paper.

Printing and privacy

The planner, notes and checklist provide print controls. Keep any printed or saved copy private. Entries are not sent to a clinician or saved by the website. Refreshing or leaving the page discards them.

Motion and presentation

The guide does not rely on autoplay video, sound or decorative movement to communicate essential information. Main headings, links and forms remain text. Decorative graphics do not carry instructions required to use the website.

Testing and limitations

Technical layout and interaction checks are not a substitute for a full accessibility audit or testing with people who use assistive technology. No formal WCAG certification or universal compatibility claim is made.

Browser settings and assistive technologies can affect presentation. A dedicated accessibility feedback inbox has not yet been established; see contact and support for current limitations. For medical help, use your healthcare provider rather than website feedback channels.
